The TTCS of BC is an organization dedicated to providing
cross cultural understanding, acceptance and interaction between
peoples of diverse nationalities and heritage through their art,
their music and their respective talents and abilities.
Events
During the course of the year we participate in various multi-cultural
community events throughout the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.
Look to the right sidebar or call 604 515 2400 for upcoming event
information.
We've continued our Library Program by donating books by
Caribbean authors to several of the public libraries in the Lower
Mainland, including Richmond, Vancouver, New Westminster and Burnaby.
Celebration Of National Holidays
We also engage in the annual celebration of the Trinidad and Tobago
Republic's national holidays such as Independence Day and Republic
Day. These we combine into a Republic / Independence Day Dinner
and Dance with a cultural show in early fall.
Looking To The Future
We have set ourselves a goal in which we envisage the founding
of a Community & Caribbean Cultural Center. With this goal in mind, our
members have already started contributing to our Building Trust
Fund. We hope to be able to encourage other Cultural organizations
to give consideration to making this a joint project.
Youth
We are also looking forward to the continuing active participation
by our Youths in self organized community events and forums to help
them deal with those social, political and economical issues which
affect them. This once active group, has now grown up and moved
on.
We need the help of parents to encourage their kids to become active
in our Youth Group. The directors of our Society cannot create this
interest by themselves.
