| The Trinidad & Tobago Cultural Society of BC offers two types
of scholarships annually.
Post Secondary Scholarships (3)
The categories are:
- All graduating students in the Lower Mainland
- Graduating students with a Caribbean heritage
- Graduating students with Trinidad & Tobago heritage
Graduating students are invited to apply for a $750 scholarship for post secondary
education by participating in our 2009 Scholarship program. Awards will be made to
one (1) winning selection in each of the three (3) categories.
Write a 500 word essay on one of the following topics:
- Describe a personal experience that has shaped your attitude about the value of
culture and diversity.
OR
- You have heard from your neighbor that her niece and nephew would be arriving in Canada from the Caribbean and they would be enrolling in your school. What can you tell your classmates about the advantages of having one of them in your class?
Additionally, students may apply for the $500.00 Lessey bursary which will be awarded to the successful student
with a Trinidad & Tobago heritage entering a post secondary institution. There is no essay requirement for
this award.
Music Scholarships (2)
These scholarships are intended to assist students interested in
learning to play the Steel Drum with a qualified Pan Tutor in the
BC Lower Mainland.
Two Music Scholarships are awarded. Value is $300 each.
